Dispensing chemists do their very best to get it right, but rare errors occur.

However, patients, relations, or carers also have a certain responsibility to check the bag and medicines contained. Many don’t read the leaflets included.

Over a billion prescriptions are given out every year and many may have 10 to 20 medicines.

The percentage of errors in a billion is infinitesimal.

The lack of staff which is endemic of all of these services, is the root problem in many cases.
