St Mary’s Women’s Fellowship

NINE members attended the meeting in February while Jessie opened with the Lord’s Prayer.The speaker was Mark Parry who spoke on the subject of chair-based exercise.

Mark is a qualified personal trainer who cur-rently works for the prison service. He provides physical training to prisoners of all ages and abilities, to improve their, physical and mental well-being, as part of their rehabilitation back into society.

Members undertook a series of these exercises, using just a regular chair and long elastic exercise band. Everyone agreed they would continue with the exercises at home. Jean and Irene gave the vote of thanks before Helen was drawn as the raffle winner.

Jessie opened the following meeting with the Lord’s Prayer once again and Graham from the Welsh Mountain Rescue Association was introduced as the guest speaker.He gave an informative presentation on the very valuable work of the volunteers.

He brought along his back pack to demonstrate the equipment required by all of the volunteers (and mostly purchased at their own expense), both to ensure their own safety and the lives of the rescuees.The presentation was a fascinating insight into the valued work and dedication of the Mountain Rescue Association and its many volunteers. The whole group thanked Graham for his enlightening presentation and sent him their best wishes for a safe 2016 season.Christine won the raffle prize.

CAFWYD noson rhagorol Gig y Groglith yng Nghlwb Golff Dolgellau i bobl ifanc dan 18 yn diweddar (gweler lluniau uchod).Roedd wedi ei drefnu ar y cyd rhwng Clwb Ffermwyr Ifanc Meirionnydd a MAD Mudiad Adloniant Dolgellau. Roedd grwp o saith o ddisgyblion o Ysgol y Gader, sef Lewys Meredydd, Hana Mansini Huws, Heledd Evans, Owain Meirion, Cerys Thomas, Erin Llewelyn a Gweno Williams, yn hanfodol i’r noson.Cafwyd disgo gan DJ Derbs a’r Solid Sounds Mobile Disgo, gan chwarae caneuon poblogaidd Cymraeg.Hefyd berfformiodd y grwp poblogaidd Candelas rhai o’u caneuon adnabyddus yn cynnws Tân Gwyllt ac 30 Eiliad.Pwrpas MAD ydi hyrwyddo y Gymraeg i bobl ifanc trwy cyfrwng cerddoriaeth ac i gael hwyl ac adloniant.
