The annual Ras y Gader Race takes place this Saturday (19 May).

Starting in Eldon Square, Dolgellau, the race will see runners climb the nearly 3,000ft summit of Cader Idris running approximately 10.5 miles.

This year is a sellout event with junior races also taking place for under 18s, under 16s, under 14s, under 12s which will take place after 1pm and the annual Fun Run which will start at 11am. Race Registration is in the Free Library and opens at 10am.

Over 100 juniors took place last year and junior race entries will be available on the day of the Race.

Eldon Square, Finsbury Square and Cader Road from the town leading up to the summit will all be closed throughout the day. The Race organisers apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause but as ever they will try to minimise disruptions for local residents and tourists heading to the mountain by filtering traffic between the races.
