A MAN with terminal brain cancer and his wife held a special anniversary and pre-Christmas party in Aberystwyth.

The vintage tea party at Ceredigion Museum on Saturday was held to mark Adam and Mandy McKenna’s 24th wedding anniversary on 21 December.

Sadly, Adam, 44, is unlikely to be alive to celebrate the couple’s silver wedding anniversary next year.

The couple from Wolverhampton were joined by family and friends for the special occasion, including their four grown-up children.

The pair, who met while studying creative writing together in Stoke on Trent, chose Aberystwyth for the special celebration as their daughter Chloe goes to the town’s university and they “fell in love with the place” when they visited.

Adam, a gas and electricity meter reader, fell ill at work with a headache in August and less than a week later was having surgery to remove a brain tumour.

He has an incurable stage 4 brain tumour and is confined to a wheelchair.

His wife Mandy, 47, organised the party for 40 friends and family.
