A BALA nursery has received a thumbs up from the school’s inspectorate.

The cylch meithrin was inspected by ESTYN staff in January of this year and its current performance and prospects for improvement are both rated as ‘good’ – only one step below ‘excellent’ the highest grading its possible to achieve.

The cylch was lauded for the childrens’ “very respectful” behaviour, the staff’s “efficient and diligent” practice as well as the nursery’s “creative” learning environment.

However, in order to improve the education facility’s prospects further, Cylch Meithrin Y Bala has been recommended to ensure the more able children are consistently challenged and to improve opportunities for children to develop their information and communication technology skills.

In order to measure the improvements, the nursery will draw up an action plan that shows how it is going to address the recommendations.

Gwynedd Council will monitor the setting’s progress.
