YOUNG, aspiring hairdressers from across the county gathered at Hyfforddiant Ceredigion Training to show off their skills.

Nine students, along with their models, vied for top spots in the Urdd Eisteddfod Preliminary Hair and Beauty Competition.

The quality from all competitors was first-rate, but HCT hairdressers did exceptionally well for the third year running.

In the Level 1 Hair Under-19 Competition, HCT celebrated two top-three finishes.

Eleri Roberts, a pupil from Ysgol Penglais who studies hairdressing at HCT, came in second place, while Cayla Williams, also from Ysgol Penglais, and studying hairdressing at HCT, finished third.

In the Level 3 Under-25 Competition, first place went to Jess Dancy, while second place went to Briony Hancock, both of whom are training as apprentice hairdressers at HCT.

Nerys Morgan, deputy manager at HCT, said: “We are very proud of the students and their achievements.

“They have worked really hard on their designs over the past few months, and it’s great to see their efforts acknowledged as part of these competitions. Good luck to them all in the national competitions next month.”

All of the students will go on to represent Ceredigion in the National Urdd Eisteddfod in Builth Wells on Friday.
