A new free festival showcasing community talent will be held at Theatr Felinfach.
Friends of Theatr Felinfach and Theatr Felinfach have announced the creation of the Gŵyl Canol Unman festival on Saturday, 19 September, which will provide a platform for local musicians, theatre companies, dance groups, artists, and small businesses, helping them reach new audiences while bringing people together to celebrate the Welsh language, local culture, and creativity.
During the day, people of all ages will be able to take part in different workshops by Theatr Felinfach and other practitioners, with sessions varying from dance, baby reflexology, drama and more.
They will have the opportunity to get to know businesses and community groups, shop, eat, drink and enjoy local talent.
Among the various stalls will be Olew, Dwdlo, Y Lein and local organisations including Ceredigion YFC, Menter Iaith Cered. The entertainment programme will include local choirs and groups entertaining on the open stage all day and to close the festival, Bwca and Pwdin Reis will perform.
Jan Thomas, Chair of Friends of Theatr Felinfach, said: “We are extremely excited to be working with the theatre to launch the brand-new festival. Although its name celebrates being “in the middle of nowhere”, we hope Theatr Felinfach will be in the middle of everything, in the middle of September, offering something for everyone with free activities and entertainment to celebrate the creativity of our rural community.”
Dwynwen Lloyd Llywelyn, Head of Theatr Felinfach, added: “We are also incredibly grateful to the many local sponsors and supporters who, in big ways and small, help to make our work possible. That support from our local community means so much to us.”
