ABERYSTWYTH is to be the “main location” for a new film co-written by a former Aberystwyth University student.

Caroline Koziol, an intrepid filmmaker, author and actress from Poland, is working hard on her next big project, Goodnight William, a film based on the true story of love and loss between William and Kornelia.

Among her many adventures, former film and television student Caroline, 23, has explored the crime-ridden Brazilian favelas to document the lives of some of the world’s most impoverished people, and hitchhiked across parts of the Sahara Desert in Morocco and the famous Route 66 in the USA.

Describing her new film, Caroline said: “Goodnight William is based on the inspiring true story of an English boy, William, and a Russian girl, Kornelia — an adventurous couple who refused to follow the rules.

“Their celebration of life, passion and love allow them to overcome their struggles caused by the government, family issues and an adolescent crisis."

Filming is due to start next year in Poland, Russia and the UK, including Aberystwyth, with an application for funding from the British Film Institute pending.

Caroline added: “The Aberystwyth coast would be the main location because watching the Aber coast as it slips by is like thinking about an enigma.”
