Madam,

We should like to thank all those who have worked so hard in recent days to keep us safe and warm.

We are extremely grateful to council and electricity workers who have spent long hours clearing and gritting roads or facing the elements in order to return power to households. Thanks also to our emergency and health workers who have kept going in very difficult conditions. Your efforts are very much appreciated.
