Madam,
With reference to your article of 22 February on Canolfan Padarn, the day centre for people with learning disabilities (‘Concern that no hot meals are delivered’), it seems grossly unfair to withdraw part of an essential service provided to some of the most vulnerable members of our society. Service users at Canolfan Padarn have wide-ranging support needs and may well be reliant on the provision of a good-quality cooked meal at lunchtime.
Given that some people have severe mobility problems and very particular dietary requirements, surely it would be in the better interests of social inclusion to have the staff at Canolfan Rheidol attend a well-equipped dining room at Canolfan Padarn, rather than the other way round.
Yours etc,
Ann-Marie Hinde, Dan-y-coed, Aberystwyth.
