It is with great relief that I report to your readers that there is compassion, understanding and just a little humanity, over the council-run car park at North Road Eye Hospital, Aberystwyth.

This was after my letter in the Cambrian News, ‘Patients should be warned over parking fees’, after my friend wrote to the council to explain his predicament about how his sight problems meant that he did not realise he now had to pay to park in the car park when attending an appointment in the eye hospital.

His parking fine has been cancelled, so there a happy ending to the saga.

Yours etc, Mohammad Tahla, Llanarth.
