A FURTHER 15 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Ceredigion today, according to official statistics.
28 new deaths related to coronavirus have also been recorded across Wales today, taking the total to 2,474 since the pandemic began in March.
Ceredigion recorded a total of 15 new cases today (Thursday) according to figures released by Public Health Wales.
Pembrokeshire has recorded 21 cases today while Carmarthenshire has recorded 64.
Since Sunday, 96 new cases of coronavirus have been identified in Ceredigion and the county council confirmed on Wednesday that 55 cases have been confirmed in the Cardigan area alone.
Speaking on Wednesday, a Ceredigion Council spokesperson said: “The number and spread of positive cases and their contacts is significant and exceeds 300 to date and this alarming rate of spread has had an impact on a wide range of services including primary and secondary schools, public houses, cafes and shops.
“As the number of positive coronavirus cases in the Cardigan area continues to increase, now is the time for us all to work together to stop the spread of the virus.”
