A DOLGELLAU councillor has thanked the cancer team who helped her through her treatment after her third bout of the disease.

Cllr Linda Morgan has been diagnosed with cancer three times in her life and has recently finished treatment after being diagnosed with Diffuse Large B cell Non Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Now she has thanked those who have helped her with her treatment in a number of north Wales hospitals.

She said: “We are very lucky in Wales to have such excellent cancer healthcare. I was first diagnosed with cancer 25 years ago and I had excellent care at Dolgellau Surgery, Wrexham Maelor Hospital and Christie’s Hospital in Manchester.

“Four years ago I was diagnosed with kidney cancer and I was under the care of Mr D Bola, a urology consultant, at Wrexham Hospital. Although I lost one kidney due to the cancer, I had excellent care again.

“I also had excellent care at Dolgellau Hospital after my operation.

“Only a year ago I was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B Cell Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. This was quite a shock as I was in my fourth year of recovery from the kidney cancer.

"I had excellent care again, firstly with Dr Juliet Edwards at Dolgellau Surgery, then the ENT department in Wrexham, followed by the Haematology department under the care of Mr Watson, the consultant, who is a caring gentlemen with a brilliant team.

"We really are extremely lucky that this is available in Wales."
