MORE than 11,000 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded across Wales today, along with 16 deaths.
The rate of infection nationwide has dropped however and currently stands at 1,997.1 cases per 100,000 population.
Ceredigion has recorded 199 new cases according to the latest data released this lunch time by Public Health Wales.
These latest cases take the county over the 10,000 milestone since the start of the pandemic, with 10,100 positive Covid-19 cases recorded in Ceredigion since March 2020.
A total of 11,693 new cases have been recorded across Wales today with 495 recorded in Gwynedd.
Carmarthenshire has recorded 665 new cases, with 310 in Pembrokeshire and 401 in Powys.
Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board in north Wales has recorded five deaths today, having recorded two on Sunday, taking its total number of Covid-19 related fatalities to 1,149.
No new deaths have been recorded in the Hywel Dda Health Board region of west Wales over the weekend, with its total remaining at 645.
No deaths have been recorded either in Powys.
