THE Covid rate in Wales has risen slightly with over 2,000 new cases recorded today.

Across Wales, 2,356 new cases have been recorded today with the national rate of infection now standing at 469.9.

Gwynedd has recorded 155 new cases today, with 25 being recorded in Ceredigion.

Elsewhere, Powys has recorded 25 cases with Carmarthenshire recording 108 and Pembrokeshire, 79.

A total of eight deaths have been recorded across Wales today, with one coming in the Powys Health Board region, taking its total to 84.

No new deaths have been recorded in the Hywel Dda region of Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, or in Betsi Cadwaladr in north Wales.

Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, 611 have been recorded by Hywel Dda, with Betsi recording 1,102.

A total of 6,428 Covid-19 deaths have been recorded in Wales.
