THE Teifi Boating Club and Welsh Hearts have worked together to install a defibrillator on the outside of the clubhouse, close to the beach at Patch.

Money was raised through individual donations from club members, a contribution from the staff of Aldi supermarket, and a Christmas raffle at the boat club.

Sufficient funds were raised to both buy the machine and make a generous donation of £400 to Welsh Hearts who provided advice, support and training.

In handing over a cheque to Dr Julian Evans, of Welsh Hearts, the club’s president, Jim Marsden, said it was important to have a defibrillator somewhere close to the beach for use in an emergency.

The club’s commodore, David Pegg, thanked everyone who had helped in raising the funds and in organising the installation of the machine.
