AS part of Dementia Action Week, Alzheimer’s Society Cymru is holding an event in Aberystwyth Bandstand on Sunday.

Over 850,000 in the UK are living with a diagnosis of dementia and the numbers are expected to rise to one million by 2022.

The organisers of tomorrow’s event hope to raise awareness of dementia in the community and provide information and services available.

Aberystwyth Silver Band will be giving a free concert, playing from 1pm.

“We have been most grateful of the support we have received in previous years from the band members and it is with great appreciation they are giving up their time to support us in this awareness raising event,” said Jane Hanwell, dementia support manager.

In addition to the music, there will be face painting, information stands and cakes.
