FOUR Covid-19 deaths have been recorded in west Wales today, according to the latest figures.

Public Health Wales’ daily statistics show that 9,213 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded across Wales today, along with six deaths.

Four of those six deaths have been recorded in the Hywel Dda Health Board region of west Wales, Four new deaths have been recorded by Hywel Dda Health Board, which covers Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, taking the total number of Covid-19 related fatalities to 640.

No new deaths have been recorded in the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board region of north Wales, or in Powys, with the totals in both regions remaining at 1,135 and 86 respectively.

The latest figures, which cover a 24-hour period, show that Ceredigion recorded 139 new cases, with 552 being recorded in Carmarthenshire and 285 in Pembrokeshire.

Gwynedd recorded 193 new cases with 298 being recorded in Powys.

The Welsh Government is expected to make an announcement on Friday on the latest review of coronavirus restrictions in the country.
