A GOVERNMENT minister has met with Dolgellau health workers as part of a tour of hospitals in north Wales.
Health secretary Vaughan Gething met with Anne Thomas and Steven Evans-Jones from Dolgellau Outpatients Clinic who provided him with an overview of their work within men’s health in their community.
Mr Gething, who was visiting Ysbyty Gwynedd, said: “It was a pleasure to also meet with Steven and Anne from Dolgellau Hospital and learn more about their work in their community in south Gwynedd,”
He also said he is ‘delighted’ with the progress already made to reshape and remodel Ysbyty Gwynedd’s emergency department.
Mr Gething, the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing and Sport, visited the emergency department and the Alaw Unit during his trip to the hospital in the last couple of weeks.
Work began earlier this year to reshape the emergency department to help increase capacity and improve the environment for patients and staff.
Mr Gething received a tour of the unit led by matron Lyn Roberts and consultant in emergency medicine and the emergency department’s lead clinician, Dr Rob Perry.
“It was great to visit the team and see the active work that’s taken place to reshape and remodel the emergency department in Ysbyty Gwynedd,” said Mr Gething.
