THE North Wales Community Health Council has appointed a new chair and vice-chair to its Gwynedd Local Committee.

Following the watchdog’s Annual General Meeting, John Gwyn Williams was re-elected as chair of the committee for 2016-2017.

Mr Williams of Llanllyfni, an NWCHC member since 2013, has over 40 years’ experience of working at senior management level for the health service in north Wales. Following his retirement in 2010, John has been able to dedicate more of his time to volunteering.

Liz Smart of Llanrug, an active NWCHC member since May 2011, was appointed as vice-chair. With a background in healthcare, she worked as a midwife for a number of years in the Caernarfon area.
