A group of pupils at an Aberystwyth secondary school are being sent home today after a student tested positive for coronavirus.

Ysgol Gyfun Penweddig posted a message on social media this lunchtime saying that a pupil in Year 11 tested positive for the virus from a lateral flow test and as a result some pupils in that year group have been sent home.

The school said: “Following a positive LFT test for one pupil in Year 11, some pupils in this year group have been sent home today.

“The school will contact the parents of all pupils affected.

“A letter will be sent out to all parents during the day.”
