HEALTH chiefs have admitted they are struggling to fill vacant posts at Bronglais Hospital, but are determined to find a way of “re-energising” the recruitment campaign.

A range of consultant posts at Bronglais have been advertised, with Hywel Dda Health Board’s new management keen on increasing the number of consultants and ensuring that services can be provided at the hospital.

But while interviews for an orthogeriatrician post will be held in April, other vacant posts have not received applications, a situation that chief executive Steve Moore says is being seen across the whole UK.

In a report that went before the Mid Wales Healthcare Collaborative at a meeting in Dolgellau on Monday, 21 March, he said: “Interviews for the Bronglais General Hospital orthogeriatrician post will be held in April 2016."
