The Hospice at Home Aberystwyth Volunteers charity is already operating in Aberystwyth and the surrounding area.
But charity boss Dr Alan Axford said the demand for the service meant it was hoped that it could be extended to cover Aberaeron and Tregaron initially before possibly covering the whole county.
Meetings will be arranged for Aberaeron and Tregaron to try and find volunteers and Dr Axford said there had already been requests for the service across the county.
He said: “HAHAV volunteers are already providing a service within a ten-mile radius of Aberystwyth and in the New Year we plan to extend the service into the Aberaeron and Tregaron areas.
“We will be hoping to recruit more volunteers from those areas in the near future.
“Requests for our service have come in from as far afield as Aberporth and demonstrates the need for the service to be county-wide.”
Meanwhile, a special auction will be held at Aberystwyth Arts Centre on Tuesday, 24 November to raise money for the charity.
Artwork from Emlyn Roberts, who passed away in 2007, will be auctioned after Mr Roberts’s wife Evana decided she wanted to help raise funds for the charity.
Glan Davies will host the auction, which will include 50 of Mr Roberts’s best paintings, and he said Mr Roberts had come to painting in a rather unusual way.
