The 64th Charter Night of Aberystwyth Inner Wheel was celebrated with a dinner at Llety Parc Hotel on Friday, 30 October.

Members welcomed district chair Marian Curtis and guests from Carmarthen and Tywyn.

Guest speaker Helen Palmer, a county archivist, described the local history preserved in the archives as the collective memory of the community.

Her theme was the importance of retaining this identity and she invited members to join the many others in exploring the archives for personal research.

At the November meeting held at Waunfawr Community Hall, president Pat Griffiths introduced Nigel Nicholas, rights of way and countryside ranger, who gave an illustrated talk on Ceredigion Coastal Paths.

Many members who had walked some of the paths felt inspired to explore further to see the local history and scenery described to us.
