Ramblers

THE GROUP’S seven-mile walk in Ciliau Aeron on 31 October started from St Michael’s Church and followed the route of the Lampeter to Aberaeron trail to Brynog Home Farm.

Here, ramblers left the trail to follow the bridlepath up and over Bank Green Grove where the view stretches up the Aeron valley far away to the Cambrian Hills and the Carmarthen Fans.

The bridlepath emerges at Bwlch y Person where the route turned toward Dihewyd before turning due north on a track back in the direction to Ciliau Aeron Church.

Ceredigion Ramblers got together on 25 October for a joint walk with Cardigan and Aberystwyth groups in the Cross Inn area.

It was a special walk following those footpaths that the right of way volunteers have cleared and waymarked and erected bridges and stiles where needed.

The route progressed to Motygido and the steep-sided wooded stream valley where all footpaths are now assessable.

On 17 October, ramblers walked in one of their favourite areas, Porthyrhyd, where several paths and tracks provide an ample choice of routes.

The route followed the old mountain road, now an unclassified rough track, to Aberbowlan and on to Erwdomi where it turns into the forestry to Cwm Dunant.

A footpath, previously difficult to follow, leading up Afon Dunant has now conveniently been waymarked and leads back up to Porthyrhyd where a choice of shorter or longer routes led back to the village.

The new season’s walking programme has been completed.
