Hardy fundraisers are being sought to take part in a Llyn walking challenge to raise money for a local hospice.
This July, a gruelling three-day walking challenge will take place on the Wales Coastal Path on the Llyn Peninsula to raise funds for St David’s Hospice, which supports local people living with life limiting illnesses in Gwynedd, Anglesey and Conwy.
The event aims to raise the awareness of services provided which include Hospice at Home, family liaison support and bereavement counselling. All funds raised will support local people in Gwynedd and the Dwyfor area.
The event takes place between 5 and 7 July with three consecutive routes along the coastal path. Each walking day is in the region of 13 miles along gruelling terrain. Participants are invited to take part for one day or all three.
Entry is free with a minimum sponsorship of £50 per individual day, or a minimum of £100 for those signing up to the three day challenge.
For every £50 raised through this event, it will enable St David’s Hospice to provide two bereavement therapy sessions to local people living in the communities of Dwyfor who have lost a loved one to a life limiting illness.
Without the Hospice’s support, this service simply would not exist.
St David’s Hospice provides palliative care services to the people of north West Wales through inpatient care, day therapy and Hospice at Home.
