AN historic hotel set beside Talyllyn lake is battling flood water after heavy rain this afternoon - and the water level is still rising.
Ty’n y Cornel sits in an idyllic lakeside spot in Snowdonia. But following weather warnings for North Wales today, the garages of the hotel have been flooded.
The hotel itself has not been flooded, but the road is ’knee-deep’ in water and is closed to traffic.
A spokesperson for the hotel told the Cambrian News this afternoon: "The water level has actually risen we have a serious problem with lorries and vans trying to drive through, damaging our historic building and creating tidal wave and damaging the garage doors."
Natural Resources Wales issued several flood alerts in North Wales for Saturday.
