A rally which had been due to visit Barmouth this weekend has been cancelled.

The Heart of Wales Lorry Rally was due to visit this Saturday, 12 September, on its way to Llanberis where it had an overnight stop before completing the 240-mile round journey home the next day.

Over the years, hundreds of vintage lorries have stopped in Barmouth, and the event always attracted many visitors.

Rally organiser John Boughey said, sadly, this year’s event will not take place due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Hopefully all the lorries will be back again next year on Saturday, 11 September, 2021,” he said.

“Please put the date in your diary and come along next September to see the superb lorries in all their splendour.”
