Dominoes appreciations
THE proprietors of Machynlleth’s Dyfi Forester Inn thanked all those who took part in the Machynlleth District Summer Domino League. This includes all players and the various venues, especially the Dyfi Hotel Cemmaes Road who hosted the successful finals evening.As usual the proceeds went to charity, this year the Wales Air Ambulance Service.
Pool league
DIVISION 1 leaders Red Lion A and Skinners A were the only teams to retain their unbeaten status after week 4 in the Machynlleth and District Winter Pool League on Thursday, 5 November. To book a slot or for more information call 01654 702724.British Legion AGMIN the absence of branch chairman Richie Jones, vice-chairman Stephen Doyle welcomed 15 members to the AGM of the Machynlleth and district branch, which was held at the bowling club on 3 November.The Exhortation was given in Welsh by Eufyl Williams and in English by Anthony Jones.Secretary Anthony Jones gave apologies for 13 members and took members through the minutes of last year’s AGM. There were no matters arising.President, Sylvia Rowlands, took the chair for the election of officers for 2015/16, and it was proposed by Kath Holt and seconded by Evelyn Jones that all officers remain at their posts for the coming year. The motion was carried.
