Machynlleth Town Council re-elected their mayor for his fourth term.

Cllr Jeremy Paige was voted in by councillors at the Council AGM on 19 May.

Mayor Paige said he was “delighted and honoured”: “I am encouraged by the trust placed in me by my fellow Councillors and will continue to work hard to represent the best interests of the Machynlleth people.

Politics at every level is becoming increasingly pressured - I hope debates on all sides can be robust and respectful.

“Machynlleth is a special place, and we should be leading on this.”

Deputy Mayor Rwth Hughes was also “honoured” to be re-elected for her second term: “I look forward to the challenges another year brings, and I will do my very best to represent Machynlleth.”
