CINDERELLA is considered by many to be the most magical pantomime of all.
This year it’s brought to life by local amateur dramatics group, Cardigan Theatre, and you can see the show at Theatr Mwldan from Saturday, 19 to Monday, 28 December (except Christmas Day and Boxing Day).
Cinderella - played by Courtney Stewart – is the tale of a beautiful young girl who lost her mother at a young age.
She now lives with her wicked stepmother Baroness Hardup (Clair Davies) and her devious stepsisters Lil-I-am and Jessie J (Amber James and Faye Brightman); whose life goals are shopping, hair, nail appointments and making Cinderella’s life extremely hard.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Cinderella without a magical fairy Godmother (Ceri Maskell) ready and willing to save the day.
Bubble and Squeak (Sion Davies and Amber Richards), the kitchen mice, remind us that no deed too small will ever go un-noticed. Let’s just hope they can avoid the horrid kitchen cat Simone (Rachel Clark) who spends her days dreaming of mice on toast.
Buttons (Ruby Whithouse) is madly in love with Cinderella and makes no effort in hiding that fact.
Will he ever convince Cinders that he’s the man for her?
However, his hopes may be dashed as Prince Charming (Jenny Williams) cannot resist Cinderella’s beauty. Will it be love at first sight?
With his trusty side-kick Dandini (Hayley Knights) what could possibly go wrong?
The group’s organisers said they would like to thank local business Cardi Builders for their support and generous donations towards this year’s production by sponsoring the cast T-shirts and supplying some much-needed items for the set.
Performances are from 19 to 24 December at 2pm and 27 and 28 December at 2pm, with a 7.30pm showing on 27 December.
Tickets are available to book from Theatr Mwldan on 01239 621200 or at www.mwldan.co.uk.
