A MATHS teacher has made every mile count in a marathon fund-raising effort.
After months of training, Gwenan Roberts, maths teacher at Ysgol Uwchradd Tywyn, set off with friends Adele Powell-Jones and Rhian Jones (pictured) to London to compete in the full 26-mile Moonwalk marathon in aid of Breast Cancer.
After arriving in the competitors’ pink tent at 8pm, the walkers set off for the serious business two hours later.
There were over 15,000 participants, walking the streets of London throughout the night, through torrential rain, but brightening the event with nearly all participants in specially decorated bras - including the male participants.
“It was great to see the finish line in daylight, with so many supporters cheering.
“Despite being a bit stiff and very tired, everyone had a fantastic time, despite the weather and made even better by having raised over £500,” she said.
