Camera Club

THE Thursday evening’s meeting began with a projected presentation, by Gareth Parry, regarding the principal applications of the ‘NIK Collection’ in respect of ‘Lightroom’ and ‘Photoshop‘, with members interceding with their own experiences and observations. The latter part of the meeting was an open forum, discussing the intricacies and virtues of various graphic packages available to photographers. There will be an additional meeting, on Friday, 29 April in the Memorial Hall, when John Cooke, from south Wales, will give advice and guidance on the preparation of Panels for competition.

Cross Inn WI

THE members and their guests at their last meeting were introduced to the mysteries of glass fusion by Judith Hannington. They were fascinated to learn of the necessity to choose “compatible” glass before the molten rod could be fashioned in the flame, merging colours and patterns into the end result of a unique glass bead. At the end of the demonstration they were treated to a sample of Judith’s amazing, imaginative work and several members went home with a beautiful souvenir of the evening. The competition was won by Edwina Iwanek with her pink blown-glass bowl.Everyone was then revived with a delicious supper of fresh sandwiches and cakes, washed down with copious amounts of hot tea. A fitting end to an enjoyable evening. The next meeting will incorporate belly dancing, when all are welcome to have a go.
