I have every sympathy with the lady from Porthmadog who had to go for a repeat Covid test whilst feeling unwell (Cambrian News, 22 October), but I think we should question the need for the second test.

We already know from the report that she was unwell at the time of the second trip, and that a member of her residential household had a positive test. So, we know she had Covid, with 99 per cent certainty, which is better than the swab test accuracy anyway. So her second test was not needed, and all should have rested at home.

However, please encourage people who have had the virus, to look up online and participate in the symptom reporting trials, as well as contact Test, Trace, Protect, so they can be added to the infection spread studies.
