WELSH Olympic medallist Jazz Carlin has officially opened a new £3m development at Hafan y Môr in Pwllheli.
The silver medallist was on hand on Friday to officially open Splash Away Bay, at Hafan y Môr Holiday Park, formerly the Butlins site.
To celebrate the launch, Jazz, who won Gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and two silver medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics, cut a ribbon to declare the pool open.
There were a whole host of dignitaries at the opening as well as local schoolchildren.
The £3m investment has given the existing swimming area a full revamp; adding in a new toddler zone and lane swimming pool, along with updates to the lazy river, wave pool and flumes.
Haven has invested £3m over the winter to fully redevelop the swimming pool complex.
This is part of a £5.5m reinvestment in the north Wales holiday park for 2017.
Jazz said: “I’ve not seen a facility like Hafan y Môr before. It’s an incredible pool which caters for all different age groups. It was great to see so many kids enjoying being in the pool and being comfortable around water. I loved meeting everyone and would like to thank Haven for giving me the chance to officially open such a great facility.”
The refurbished swimming pool complex, Splash Away Bay, hosts a new design alongside an array of family friendly water features.
