A-10-YEAR-OLD Aberaeron schoolboy who can quote large chunks from speeches made by wartime leader Winston Churchill has raised £180 for the Royal British Legion by selling home-made poppies to mums and dads outside the school gates.

Osian Thomas-Morgan, a Year 6 pupil at Aberaeron Primary School, made almost 200 poppies using glue, felt and black buttons, helped by his mum and two sisters along with a friend’s mum.

The youngster also sent a batch of poppies to the Isle of Barrah in the Outer Hebrides for his Scottish relatives to distribute.

Poppy fundraiser Osian is seen presenting a cheque to Martin Lewis, president of the Aberaeron branch of the Royal British Legion. Standard-bearer Gareth Davies is in the background.
