Local friends Pam Morris and Paul Davies have raised more than £2,000 for mental health charity Mind Cymru.

Pam, who lives in Llechryd, and Paul, from Cardigan, took part in a 26-mile charity walk in London to raise money for the charity, as well as holding an Elvis and Madonna tribute evening at Cardigan Rugby Club.

In total they raised £2,181, which they recently presented to Mind Cymru senior fundraising officer Lucy Lloyd.

Pam said: “Mental health is a cause very close to our hearts, so we jumped at the chance to raise money for Mind Cymru.

“We’ve had great fun doing it and it feels good to know that the money we raised will help people in Wales who need it most. We’d like to thank everyone who supported and sponsored us in our challenge.”

Ms Lloyd said: “I am delighted that Pam and Paul chose Mind Cymru as their charity for this amazing challenge.

“Getting outdoors and physically active can have real benefits for people’s mental health and wellbeing, and having such a challenging goal can really motivating.

“We’re really grateful to Pam and Paul for raising money to help us campaign for better mental health services in Wales.”
