AN amateur photographer has captured these amazing images of two American aircrew taking in the views near Talyllyn whilst dangling out the back of a 34 tonne plane.
The man and woman were spotted hanging their legs out the back of a C-130 Hercules as it soared at around 300mph just 250ft from the ground.
They could be seen grinning as they flew above the mountains in Snowdonia National Park, north Wales.
The US military and the RAF regularly practice low-level manoeuvres in the designated military low fly area - on a flight path known as the Mach Loop.
Teacher Wayne Lewis, 38, from Welshpool, was driving when he saw it approaching and quickly pulled over and grabbed his camera.
He said: “I knew that military planes use the area.
“I had just enough time to take some pictures as it passed.
“It was amazing. I couldn’t believe there were two people sitting on the rear ramp - looking very casual too.
“It sounded incredible. It was an awesome experience to see a military plane pass so close.
“These photos were taken as it flew past me around 250ft and an estimated 200-300mph. It was only as it passed that I noticed two American aircrew sat on the rear loading ramp.
“They appear to be enjoying the ride.”
