LAMPETER residents have won their fight to block plans for 20 affordable homes on the site of Ffynnonbedr Primary School.
Hacer Developments wanted to build houses and flats on the site of the school in Bryn Road which closed when new premises were built next to the secondary school in 2007.
Planning officers had recommended approval in a bid to alleviate a shortage of affordable housing stock in Lampeter.
But after objections were raised by local residents, Ceredigion council’s planning committee voted against the scheme on Wednesday.
The site was originally earmarked by the council for 12 homes in the local development plan.
