A SPECIAL week at Strata Florida Abbey kicks off with a visit from the Prince of Wales on Monday.

Prince Charles will be supporting the Strata Florida Trust by paying a visit to the historic site, near Pontrhydfendigaid, on Monday, 10 July, where he will see the Nanteos Cup, which will be returning to the place where legend says it came from.

The Prince will also meet trustees, members of the community and partners of the venture.

“Strata Florida is a very special place for all in Ceredigion, in Wales, and for a surprising number of people beyond,” said Prof David Austin, Trustee and director of the Strata Florida Research Project.

“It is too a place of great spiritual and historical meaning lying in a beautiful landscape on the western flank of the Cambrian Mountains.”

And on Tuesday, to follow up the royal visit, Strata Florida will be visited by members of a conference, organised by Patrick Holden, which is meeting in Llandovery to discuss Harmony in Food and Farming.

Many of the principles the conference are looking at will be applied within the Strata Florida Centre.

On the weekend of 15 and 16 July, the Trust will be presenting all the new discoveries made over the last 18 years of research and talk about plans for the future.
