THE Princess Royal visited Pwllheli’s £9m sailing academy for the first time this month, as the venue hosted the final day of the RYA Youth Championships.
Princess Anne visited the town on Friday, 8 April, during the sailing championships.
The Queen’s daughter has a keen interest in sport, being the president of the Royal Yachting Association as well as a member of the international Olympic committee.
She was escorted on her visit by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gwynedd, Edmund Bailey.
Also invited to join HRH during her visit were Dr Peter Harlech Jones, High Sheriff of Gwynedd; Cllr Dilwyn Morgan, chairman of Gwynedd Council; Cllr Michael Sol Owen, mayor of Pwllheli and Dwyfor Meirionnydd MP Liz Saville Roberts.
