THE family of a popular carer who died four years ago in a car crash have announced a walk held in her memory raised £3,000.

Danielle Wrighton, 22, of Dyffryn Ardudwy, died in a car crash near Llandegla in December 2013.

The death of the popular carer shook the community.

In September last year, her friends joined together bedecked in Hawaiian garb and walked 10 miles to raise money for the Wales Air Ambulance.

Her family announced this week that the effort managed to raise £3,026.

Suzanne Jones, who took part in the walk, said: “We started our walk from Harlech in atrocious weather conditions, all in aid of Wales Air Ambulance.

“We had music along the way and everyone dressed in Hawaiian costumes, the turn out was amazing from adults of all ages to children and even babies being pushed in prams.

“Dani was special to everyone who knew her.

“The total raised was £3,025.87 through donations and raffles.

“Iona and George, Dani’s parents, would like to thank each and everyone who took part and who still continue to support them.”

Friends have previously raised £5,000 for Ty Gobaith/Hope House by walking along the same stretch between Harlech and Barmouth.
