A GROUP of Chwilog residents fed up with the amount of litter in the area have decided to start a long-term campaign to tidy up their community.

A total of nine volunteers were present when Gwynedd Council’s Tidy Towns officer Jonathan Gwyn Neale visited the village with equipment such as litter pickers and high-visibility jackets.

He said: “It was good to see so much interest amongst residents to improve their local community.

“One of the best features of the Tidy Towns scheme is its ability to enable local groups to take part in the campaign to clean up our communities.

“I look forward to working with the Chwilog group in future.”
