Madam,
I feel a need to respond to Graham Tottle’s letter in your paper last week. In it he says the vast majority of the residents of Llanbedr want the bypass to go ahead. I would go further and say everybody who has to get to the other side of the village from any direction wants it and has been begging for a relief road for decades. I can’t work out how Option 2 will result in any more “environmental vandalism” than any other possible option that has been professionally surveyed on behalf of the Welsh Government. The traffic will be broadly similar to what is currently endured by the village but there will be fewer jams, with lower emissions from idling engines and if the airfield ever “takes off” (pun intended) it will make life easier for all concerned. Sounds like a win-win situation unless it runs through your back yard and you weren’t aware of the possibility when you bought a house.
Yours etc
Evan Owen
