John Moss says that Craig ab Iago is out of touch with the housing crisis (Letters, 3 September), but his use of statistics clouds the reality he claims to represent.
The relative value of Welsh to English property is irrelevant, the issue is affordability, and wage increases in rural Wales are not likely, since universal minimum wage employment will be further entrenched after Covid and Brexit, and public and private sector businesses will therefore continue having difficulty in recruiting local labour.
The second home community epitomises the political division in humanity, individualism versus co-operatism, right versus left, exploitative versus collaborative.
Craig ab Iago says he is not against second homes, but affordable homes for the desperate masses should be the priority, and the current rigged housing market does not begin to address that.
