A RNLI branch has waved goodbye to a retiring stalwart.

Coxswain Mike Davies is retiring from RNLI Porthdinllaen after serving in his current role since 2004.

His departure was marked with a special lifeboat-shaped cake and a party attended by the Porthdinllaen crew.

A spokesperson for the charity said: “We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our coxswain, Mike Davies, from the bottom of our hearts for the honourable service that he’s provided us at RNLI Porthdinllaen over the past 14 years. Good luck Mike on your new venture, and thank you for everything.”

Mike’s role is expected to be filled within the next few weeks.
