A BLAENAU Ffestiniog convenience store has handed out donations to three different good causes in the town.

McColl’s on Church Street, through the Making a Difference initiative, where customers purchase specific products in store and a percentage of the sale goes into a pot, and the retailer and shoppers then decide which good causes should receive a donation.

£450 has been raised by this scheme to date and donations has been handed out to Cylch Meithrin for £200, Bro Ffestiniog Rugby Juniors have received £150 and Blaenau Sovereign Morris Dancers have been handed £100.

Commenting on the money donated, James Lancaster, McColl’s Retail Group CEO, said: “It is really wonderful that we have raised and donated money to such worthwhile causes.

“McColl’s always try its best to continually support the neighbourhoods in which we operate.

“These donations are another great example of our helpful and giving ethos.

“I hope customers will continue to support the scheme and we cannot wait for virtual fund to build up again so another local good cause can benefit.”
