AN Aberystwyth street dance crew will represent Wales in the Six Nations Dance event after wowing the judges at the Welsh Street Dance Championships.
The ABATTAK crew took part in the championships in Newport on Sunday, 22 November, where the ABATTAK Giants took first place in the under-10s category and ABATTACKERS scooped the under-18s title.
But the group’s success didn’t end there. There was a strong showing in the solo and duo competitions, with Tili Hughes winning the under-8s solo crown with Caitlin Crowley coming third, Tirion Thomas coming fifth in the under-12s.
Tili and Caitlin teamed up to come second in the under-8 duo competition with Abi Griffin and Seren Bedder coming third and Rebecca Thomas and Manon Izri fourth in the over-16s.
Rebecca Thomas, who teaches the group, said: “They have all qualified for Glasgow World and European Street Dance Championships 2016 and have also been chosen to represent Wales in the Six Nations Dance Event.
“I am extremely proud of each individual dancer, they are a pleasure to teach and a credit to ABATTAK.”
