A street food festival will go ahead in Aberystwyth next month, organisers have said.

The Aberystwyth Street Food Festival will take place on the town’s marina between 14 and 16 August from 12pm until 10pm daily, but with special measures in place to help those attending maintain social distancing.

Capacity on the Lanfa car park will be limited to 499 people and although the event is free, those wanting to attend will have to pre-book a two-hour ‘sitting window’ before attending the event.

The festival itself will be spread wider across the car park and will increase the number of stewards working so crowds can be managed.

This will be the second year the festival has been held in Aberystwyth and will be split into three themes over the weekend.

Two Lads Kitchen, That Street Food, Canoodle & Chock Shop are just some of the street food vendors that will be attending the weekend, with many more both local and national vendors to be announced.

A spokesperson for the event said: “Whether you’re a ‘stick to what you know’ type of foodie or a culinary adventurer, there really is something for everyone.

“We can’t guarantee the weather... because this is Wales!

“But what we can guarantee, come rain or shine, is a completely free and family-friendly event where you can get your hands on the most vibrant and high quality street food Aberystwyth has to offer.

“All whilst sipping on a trendy tipple, it’s going to be a delicious weekend!”
