COLEG Meirion-Dwyfor student Arron Tregenza is busy preparing for his next big outdoor adventure.

Arron, from Dyffryn Ardudwy, who is studying the BTEC Diploma in Outdoor Adventure is sailing in a gruelling 10-day voyage on the Three Festivals Tall Ships Regatta.

Arron, who got support from training charity Wales Challenge, starts the voyage in Liverpool on 27 May 2018 and then sails with the rest of the crew to Dublin, finishing off in Cardiff 10 days later.

Arron said: “I feel privileged to have been nominated to take part in the Tall Ships Regatta. I am really looking forward to developing my sailing skills during the voyage and to meeting new people from all different walks of life.”

Co-ordinator of Outdoor Adventure on the Dolgellau campus, Delyth Jones said: “Well done to Arron for using his initiative to gain the funding to enable him to take up this amazing offer of sailing on the Three Festivals Tall Ships Regatta. We are proud that he has successfully obtained a place on board for what I am sure will prove to be an adventure of a lifetime.”
